Uzodimma’s Guber Bid Gets Major Boost,As Reps Member Unveils Powerful Political Structure

The re election bid of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, received a major boost on Sunday in Owerri, when a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Eugene Dibiagwu, inagurated the Imo Progressives Movement, IPM.

The Movement is the largest political structure drumming support for Uzodimma’s re election. It comprise of over 10,000 political foot soldiers drawn from the 27 local government areas in the State.

Dibiagwu, who represents Oguta, Ohaji/Egbema/Oru West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, in his inaugural speech, said Uzodimma deserves a second term to continue his outstanding and exceptional performance as governor.

He noted that the IPM was constitued to galvanize support for the governor at the grassroots, urging members of the Movement to take the gospel of Uzodimma’s good governance to their various communities and wards.

“Governor Uzodimma has done well to deserve a second term in office. He has built good roads and today, Imo State is no longer mocked for having bad roads.

“You can drive for over 30 kilometers across the State without sighting a pot hole. This deserves commendation.

“Across the three geo political zones in the State, Orlu, Owerri and Okigwe, there are good motorable roads.

“Pensioners and workers in the State receive their pay monthly, including the N40,000 minimum wage increment for workers.

“Medical students at IMSU are now accredited unlike in the past where students of the higher institution are not accredited after graduation. It was the Governor who worked so hard to achieve this feat”he said.

The lawmaker said the massive turnout of members of the IPM for their inauguration is a clear indication that they are in support of the good works of the governor.

He also gave kudos to the Imo State Council of Elders for initiating the Imo Charter of Equity, which he noted, would ensure seamless transition and rotation of power among the three zones in the State.

In his remarks, Chairman, Board of Directors of IPM, Williams Ejiakor, commended Hon Dibiagwu for his vision in setting up the political structure to lead the crusade for the governor’s re election in the communities and 305 wards in the State.

Several speakers at the event, including an official of the IPM and former publicity Secretary of the PDP now in the APC, Mr. Collins Opuruozor, assured that the group will live up to expectations and ensure that Governor Hope Uzodimma gets re elected for a second term.

The highlight of the programme was the Inauguration of members of IPM, who pledged their undiluted support and commitment to the actualization of the ideals of the Movement.
