August Meeting: Imo Gov’s Aide, Onyeneke Urges Women To Focus On Issues Threatening Peace

Imo Women have been admonished to use the fora of this year’s August meetings to passionately address sensitive issues which is threatening security and peaceful co-existence in the various rural communities.

The Special Adviser to Imo State Governor on Orientation,Chief Fidel Onyeneke made the appeal in Owerri in a goodwill message to mark the homecoming of the Women.

Chief Onyeneke observed that the Female folks as agents of positive change,were in a better position to redirect the psyche of the Youths and make them become more responsible citizens.

He challenged the Women as mothers,to fashion out ways of educating the masses against cultism,kidnapping,Armed robbery,killings and other violent vices which had ravaged the society in recent times.

Chief Onyeneke recalled that Imo State which had enjoyed peace over the years has been turned into a theater of war,due to loss of respect for human dignity.

The Special Adviser who suggested aggressive measures to restore the lost values of the people solicited for the cooperation of all and sundry,to make the communities safe again for human existence.

He commended the frantic efforts made by the Imo state government to ensure adequate protection of lives and property and urged the Women to join hands with the government in this direction.

He advised the Women organizations to be courageous enough in condemning those who perpetrated evil acts, adding that no society can record any meaningful growth in an atmosphere of rancour.

Chief Onyeneke pleaded with the electorate not to lose hope in the activities of the government, but should rather contribute their quota towards enhancing good governance which is beneficial to everyone.

The Special Adviser who said that the peace of Imo state was of paramount interest,called on the indigenes to always imbibe the spirit of oneness,while remaining their brothers keepers.

Chief Onyeneke urged the masses to be bold enough to provide appropriate information that would aid Security operatives to check the nefarious activities of the miscreants in the Communities.
