2023 EWA Annual Home And Abroad Conference: Lizzy Nwokecha Urges Imo Women To Unite

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), National Women Leader Barr. Mrs. Elizabeth Nwokeocha, has urged Imo State women to unite and support one another like sisters from the same mother.

Whether it’s political, social, technological, entrepreneurial or spiritual, despite the challenges must rise in lifting women cause in all ramifications.

She made the disclosure  during her speech at the 2023 Egbu Women Association (EWA) annual home and abroad conference held on Saturday.

Elizabeth noted annual gathering of women with the them, ” The Travailing Woman” provided a platform for women to brainstorm on issues concerning their future.

She said the theme of the event which anchored on Bible scripture 1st Samuel 1 verse 10 to 15, where Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly pouring out her soul to the Lord to answer her, says Hannah story is so significant to everything the woman is today.

Elizabeth appealed to women whether home or abroad remember they are one, like Hannah women should pour out their soul in pursuit of their dreams urging them to ride on the backs of those before them and take the leap forward in order to succeed in life.

The Chairperson commended the EWA for wonderful event, His Royal Highest Eze Mitchelle Uchenna Egbukaole of the Egbu Kingdom, All Progressives Grand Alliance gubernatorial candidate Imo State Chief Tony Ejiogu and other notable personalities for honouring the occasion.

Also speaking,Imo State APGA gubernatorial candidate Chief Tony Ejiogu, thanked Egbu women for the successful August meeting charged them to spread the good news of change, adding his contesting to bring positive change in the state.

Ejiogu revealed that the present administration nothing to offer, saying Imo State health care are not working the retirees are facing hard times, he urged the women to vote massively for APGA in November 11 gubernatorial election even as he called for unity among Owerri people.

Also speaking, the APGA Chairman Imo State, Hon. John Iwuala, thanked Egbu women for organizing such a wonderful event, adding that he will encourage them and ensure they work in synergy for better result.

In his address, Eze Mitchelle Uchenna Egbukaole ( Ochoronma VI of Egbu Kingdom), expressed delight and thanked God for successful host of Egbu August meeting which will usher the beginning of good things to come in the community, described women as a blessing from God.

He said a lot of positive things have happened in Egbu, as he commended the new exco ably led by Lady Ngozi Nkwazema jp, President Egbu Women Association ( EWA)  for their contributions towards the development of Egbu  Kingdom, pointed a lot is expected of them in ensuring that peace, love reign in the land of Egbu.

Meanwhile, the highpoint of the event  was the cutting of the celebration cake and  awards of honour was conferred on Egbu sons and daughters who have contributed immensely towards the development of the community, dancing performance by the EWA women, and a special song presentation by Lady Ijeoma Okoro, etc.
