Wife of the President, Senator (Mrs) Oluremi Tinubu has called on women in Imo State, young and old, to vote massively for Governor Hope Uzodimma in the governorship election on November 11.
Mrs Tinubu spoke on Friday at the Ndubuisi Kanu Square in Owerri, at the close of the 2023 Women’s August Meeting
According to her, Governor Hope Uzodimma led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, has done so much for women in the state, by choosing a female as his Running Mate in the forthcoming governorship election.
The President’s wife, reaffirmed the Tinubu administration’s commitment to make Nigeria a prosperous country, which all citizens would be proud of.
In her remarks, wife of the governor and the host, Mrs Chioma Uzodimma, called on all women to continue to preach peace and unity.
She emphasized that for the advancement of women, the Uzodimma-led administration will continue to place a high priority on their welfare and well-being.
Governor Uzodimma,in his speech, shared his wife’s views on the advancement and empowerment of women in the State.
Women from the 27 local government areas and other women organisations participated in a march-past, as part of activities scheduled for the event.
Every year in the month of August, Igbo women in the South East hold August meeting.
