Court Sacks Imo Reps Member

The Imo State National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal has nullified the election of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate Hon. Jonas Okeke as the House of Representatives member for Ehime Mbano/Ihitte Uboma, Obowo Federal Constituency in Imo State.

The three-man panel, Justice Anthony Olotu Akpovi, Justice Usman A.S. Kudu, and Justice Ibrahim Mohammed, declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, as the duly elected candidate.

Reacting to the ruling of the court, Hon. Okeke vowed to “explore our constitutional right to seek redress for this miscarriage of justice done by the tribunal at the appellate court.”
