Why South East Is In Darkness- EEDC

The South East is in darkness for the second time in two weeks as a result of the failure of operations at Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, or EEDC.

In a press release titled “Notice of Total System Collapse,” Mr. Emeka Ezeh, Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC, stated that the incident occurred on Thursday at around 12:40 a.m.

“The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers of a total system collapse that occurred at 12:40 a.m. today, September 14, 2023,” said a statement from the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC).

According to the EEDC, the supply disturbance the network is now experiencing was caused by this.

“The National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo, has been notified, and we are on standby in anticipation of their detailed report on the supply collapse and restoration.” the statement stated

“This development makes it impossible for us to serve our consumers in the states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, and Imo because all our interface TCN (Transmissions Company of Nigeria) stations are out of supply.
