Legendary Arsenal player, Paul Merson has declared that Manchester United is done and cannot win the Premier League this year.
Merson claims that the only two teams capable of dethroning Man City as Premier League champions this year are Liverpool and Arsenal.
Man City, the reigning Premier League champions, are currently leading the English top division.
Tottenham (second), Liverpool (third), Arsenal (fourth), and Man United (thirteenth) are all behind Pep Guardiola’s team.
Merson said in his Sky Sports blog that Manchester United had already lost the title chase.
“The only teams that can challenge Manchester City this year are Liverpool and Arsenal. Manchester United, for instance, is already nine points behind. They’ve completed it. Done. They can’t win the league – because it’s Man City. If it’s any other team, you can go, ‘Oh, if you put a run together, you never know.’ But City are not losing four or five games.”
