Gent Coach Worried Over Gift Orban’s Poor Form

Hein Vanhaezebrouck, the head coach of KAA Gent, has voiced his reservations regarding the star striker Gift Orban’s current performance.

Orban, who led the Buffalos in scoring last season, has recently had difficulty in front of goal.

The 21-year-old’s most recent goal for Gent came in August against Sint Truiden.

The Nigerian’s performance in the team’s 1-1 tie with RWDM last weekend was terrible.

Vanhaezebrouck bemoaned the fact that Orban was completely absent from the game.

“After all, he is the top scorer. We had many opportunities, but none materialized when he came on. That also has significance, Vanhaezebrouck said.

“You must also have the ability to create your opportunities. We hardly noticed him. With that, you are a striker. There are times when every ball drops perfectly, but not right now.

“You also have to be able to create your chances. We barely saw him. You have that as a striker. You have periods when every ball falls well, but not now. Our crosses were not good enough either.”

Orban has scored twice in seven league outings for Gent this season.
