Imo ALGON Chairman Extols Uzodimma’s Leadership Qualities,Administrative Acumen

As the first tenure of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration winds up, Oru West Sole Administrator and Imo State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Willie TC Okoliegwo, has extolled the administrative acumen of the Governor for its developmental strides despite meeting an empty treasury.

The ALGON Chairman made the revelation during a post-media chat with journalists at the ALGON Office in Owerri on Friday.

He said that the present administration was able to take the state to the level it is now through its administrative initiatives, which he said helped lift the state from financial doldrums.

The ALGON boss pointed out that people may not understand the kind of financial rot the governor met in office.

“There was no proper handover, no proper documentation, and, worst of all, an empty treasury. Uzodimma started from scratch and, through his positive initiatives, was able to record huge achievements.

Okolieogwo further stated that the good road networks enjoyed by the people of the state are testaments to the developmental milestones of the present administration.

On rural development, the Oru West Sole Administrator maintained that the 3R-led government has made significant inroads in the rural areas by awarding contracts for rehabilitation of health centers in the 305 wards and five kilometers of road in each local government area of the state.

He stated that, unknown to many, the governor does not interfere in local government allocations as they go directly to the local government coffers.

On the governor’s reelection, the Oru West SOLAD noted that the overwhelming victory was a result of the love Ndi Imo has for him and his ability to reach out to stakeholders irrespective of party affiliations.

He, however, promised to sustain the media chats in order to always keep the media abreast of government policies and thereby avoid misinforming the people.

He told the people of the state to expect more democratic dividends as the governor is now better prepared to offer his best to the state, having used his first tenure as a test run.
