However, amidst the sackings, the governor voiced his dissatisfaction with specific appointees, citing their conduct as detrimental to the image of his administration.

An exclusive report by INNONEWS on Tuesday morning foreshadowed the governor’s intention to relieve commissioners and other aides of their duties following his second-term swearing-in on Monday.

The dissolution unfolded shortly after a convened meeting of the State Executive Council held at the Government House in Owerri on Tuesday.

All members of the expanded Executive Council, spanning Commissioners, Special Advisers, and Senior Special Assistants, are among those affected by the sweeping sack.

A statement released by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Oguwike Nwachuku quoted Governor Uzodimma to have asserted his plans to promptly reconstitute the Executive Council, with a commitment to including individuals who showcased distinction in their service during his initial four-year term.

The governor’s dissatisfaction with certain appointees stemmed from their alleged contribution to tarnishing the image of his government.

He expressed regret over the activities of some political appointees, emphasizing the impact on both the government’s reputation and the individual whom he extended the opportunity to serve in his administration.

As Governor Uzodimma announced the forthcoming reconstitution of the Executive Council, he underscored the importance of upholding high standards of conduct.

According to him, those who distinguished themselves positively during his first term are expected to find a place in the revamped new council.
