Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has emphasized the critical importance of securing a victory against hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations match.
The three-time champions commenced their campaign with a less-than-ideal 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea, necessitating a positive result against the Elephants to enhance their prospects of advancing to the Round of 16.
Addressing the media in Abidjan, Nwabali expressed the team’s determination, stating, “We must win, definitely we must win. I know the next game will be tough, but we must win.”
He said the Super Eagles recognize the significance of this encounter as they aim to bounce back from the disappointing start to their tournament journey.
The formidable clash against Jean Louis Gasset’s side is scheduled for Thursday at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, kicking off at 5 pm local time, 6 pm in Nigeria.
