Former Special Adviser to the Governor on Imo Orientation Agency,Chief Dr Fidel Onyeneke has expressed strong optimism that Governor Hope Uzodinma will embark on more aggressive rural development projects that would impact positively on the lives of the Imo masses in his second tenure.
Chief Onyeneke stated this on Saturday when he accompanied the Majority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly,Chief Kanayo Onyemaechi to inspect the ongoing reconstruction of the Avu-Oforola road ,in Owerri West Local Government Area.
He said that the Governor placed great priority to the opening of rural roads as a deliberate effort to improve effective communication amongst the various Communities in the State.
Chief Onyeneke stressed that such roads would enhance the evacuation of agricultural products from the producers to the selling points,thereby boosting the economic base of the rural dwellers.
Chief Onyeneke commended the Majority Leader who represents Owerri West in the House of Assembly,for facilitating the reconstruction of the road adding that the people would ever appreciate the gesture.
Chief Onyeneke urged Imo people not to relent in supporting the current government in Imo state,assuring that Governor Hope Uzodinma was determined to provide the neccesary dividends of democracy to the masses.
In his speech,the Majority Leader Chief Kanayo Onyemaechi assured that he would continue to provide qualitative amenities that would uplift the living standard of the electorate.
Hon Onyemaechi emphasised that the road would be completed on record time,considering its importance to the socio-economic growth if the rural dwellers.
The former Sole Administrator of Owerri West,Hon Victor Osigwe was present during the road inspection.
