The Imo State House of Assembly has given greenlight to Governor Hope Uzodimma to initiate a sweeping dissolution of all boards of parastatals, local government development centers, and extra-ministerial departments and commissions in the State.
The House approval is coming barely few weeks Uzodimma had sacked all his appointees, including Commissioners, Special Advisers, Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants
The Governor had dismissed more than 400 aides in one swoop.
A motion, titled “Motion Of Urgent Public Importance And Motion To Immediately Dissolve All Boards Of Parastals And Agencies Of Imo State Government, Extra Ministerial Departments And Commissions In The State Including Development Centre Coordinators,” was presented on the floor of the House, by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, representing Nwangele state Constituency, and unanimously adopted during a plenary session on Tuesday.
