Former Special Adviser to Imo Governor on Imo Orientation Agency,Chief Dr Fidel Onyeneke has appealed to Nigerians to always protect public facilities within their localities in order not to retard the developmental growth of the Society.
Chief Onyeneke who made the appeal in Owerri on Thursday, said that the masses should ensure the maximal use of the public utilities in order to further enhance their well-being.
He observed with dismay that the people regarded public installations as no man’s property, even when they are procured with the Tax-payers money.
Chief Onyeneke condemned the incessant vandalization of Electricity, water, roads and other infrastructural projects especially in the rural areas.
The Former Special Adviser stressed that rather than destroying them, the Communities should put them to better use for the benefit of the residents.

Chief Onyeneke urged the Traditional Rulers, Town Unions Presidents and other Community Leaders,to fashion out best ways of securing all the expensive public installations in their domain,in the interest of progress and development.
He appealed to the various state governments to regularly conduct Needs assessment of the Communities, with a view to providing the appropriate dividends of democracy for the citizens.
