Engage In Corruption, Get Sacked- Uzodimma Warns New Political Appointees

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has issued a stern warning against corruption, cautioning commissioner-designates and other political appointees that any involvement in corrupt practices will result in immediate dismissal and legal action.

The governor delivered this warning on Wednesday during the opening of a two-day retreat for his appointees at the Imo State Data Centre in Owerri, the state capital.

He emphasized the importance of understanding, internalizing, and embracing the principles of his administration, known as the 3R shared prosperity agenda, which focuses on rehabilitation, reconstruction, and recovery.

Governor Uzodimma stressed that his administration prioritizes recognition for commendable work rather than engaging in blame games.

He underscored the purpose of the retreat as a means to foster connection and unity among appointees for collective success, emphasizing that the success of one benefits all.

Addressing the participants, Governor Uzodimma emphasized that good governance entails honesty in serving the people. He stated that his selection of appointees was based on their individual merits and the unique contributions they can offer.

Asserting that his appointees are accountable to him as the governor,he reminded them that they have no obligations to anyone else.

He urged them to maintain unwavering loyalty, highlighting the significance of maintaining a strong sense of identity.
