Enyimba Promotes Yemi Olanrewaju As Head Coach After Finidi’s Departure

Following the departure of Finidi George, who assumed the role of head coach for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, the reigning champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League, Enyimba of Aba has appointed Yemi Olanrewaju to lead the team for the remainder of the season.

Yemi Olanrewaju  served as an assistant to Finidi George.

His promotion to the position of head coach comes as a natural progression.

The club expressed confidence in Olanrewaju’s abilities, emphasizing his integral role within the coaching staff.

Enyimba FC released a statement on Thursday, stating, “In light of Coach George’s departure, Enyimba FC is pleased to announce the promotion of Assistant Coach Olanrewaju Yemi Daniel to the position of Head Coach until the end of the season.”

Before his new appointment,  he is currently pursuing his UEFA B license in Scotland.

He was formerly  an assistant coach with the defunct MFM FC and also worked with Nigeria’s U-17 side, the Golden Eaglets.
