Setting The Record Straight:A Rebuttal To Oguwike Nwachuku’s Diatribe Against Ejike Chukwu. BY Constance Uwakwe

by admin

I have been drawn to a hastily written piece by Mr. Oguwike Nwachuku, Chief Press Secretary to Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

The piece was in response to a viral video featuring Uche Nnanna-Maduka, one of the numerous guest at Dr. Ejike Chukwu’s empowerment programme for Imo widows held in Owerri recently.

Mr. Nwachuku’s piece aimed to discredit Dr. Ejike Chukwu, a respected statesman and philanthropist, by alleging that Uche Nnanna-Maduka’s frustration over technical issues at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport was scripted by Dr. Chukwu.

I must respond to this inflammatory and divisive piece, as it contains unfounded allegations against Dr. Ejike Chukwu, a man of integrity and excellence.

Uche Nnanna-Maduka’s outburst was a personal expression of frustration, not endorsed by Dr. Ejike Chukwu or by her colleagues.

These colleagues included Chief Ejike Esiegbu, Fred Amata, Keppy Ekpenyong, Gloria Nobert Young, and Grace Ama, who were special guests at the Ejike Chukwu Foundation Empowerment Programme for Imo widows.

The empowerment programme, attended by respected Imo leaders and traditional rulers, was a genuine effort to support Imo widows, not a political script.

Dr. Ejike Chukwu’s foundation has a track record of bridging the gap between potential and opportunity, empowering individuals and communities across Imo State and beyond.

Mr. Nwachuku’s rush to judgment and mischievous interpretation are uncharitable and deviate from investigative journalism standards.

Let us avoid inciting the governor against his brother, Dr. Ejike Chukwu, who meant well by extending his benevolence to Imo widows.

Dr. Ejike Chukwu’s empowerment programme was a genuine act of charity, not a political script.

It takes a man with a good heart for charity and love for humanity like Dr. Ejike Chukwu to do what he did in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The event was not held in his Ohaji village, contrary to Mr. Nwachuku’s misleading statement.

Dr. Ejike Chukwu’s foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through education, skills development, and economic empowerment.

Over the years, it has worked assiduously on its commitment to empower men, women and Youths.

The foundation has empowered Imo widows across the 27 LGAs of the State with food relief materials and cash donations. This is a testament to Dr. Ejike Chukwu’s character and dedication to the betterment of society.

Mr. Nwachuku’s diatribe against Dr. Ejike Chukwu’s humanitarian efforts is unfortunate and misguided. His piece was a clear case of incitement and character assassination.

It is important to State that Uche Nnanna-Maduka’s outburst was not scripted by Dr. Ejike Chukwu. It was a spontaneous reaction to the technical issues at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport.

Dr. Ejike Chukwu’s foundation has empowered many individuals and communities in Imo State. His philanthropic efforts are well-documented and appreciated by the people of Imo State.

Let us focus on promoting unity and celebrating genuine philanthropists like Dr. Ejike Chukwu. The likes of Nwachuku should desist from divisive rhetoric and incitement against Mr Chukwu.

I urge Mr. Nwachuku to retract his statement and apologize to Dr. Ejike Chukwu for the harm caused by his inciting article. We must learn to celebrate our heroes and avoid pulling them down with misinformation and character assassination.

Dr. Ejike Chukwu’s empowerment programme was a laudable effort that deserves commendation, not condemnation. Let us embrace the truth and avoid divisive rhetoric.

We should strive to build a society that celebrates kindness, generosity, and philanthropy. Dr. Ejike Chukwu’s foundation is a shining example of this, and we must commend his efforts.

In conclusion, I urge us all to focus on promoting unity, celebrating our heroes, and avoiding divisive rhetoric. Dr. Ejike Chukwu’s empowerment program was a genuine act of charity, and we must commend his efforts and discredit it as mischievously done by Oguike Nwachuku.
