Amuneke Set For Coaching Return With Heartland FC

Former Super Eagles forward, Emmanuel Amuneke, is to return to coaching after a year-long hiatus.

According to reports, Amuneke is close to joining Heartland FC, which aims to secure a return to the top-flight NPFL next season.

Amuneke’s last coaching stint was with Zambia’s Zanaco FC, where he served as both coach and consultant before departing in 2023.

He had also applied for the Super Eagles head coach position but was overlooked by the NFF in favour of Finidi George.

Heartland FC, Amuneke’s hometown club, was relegated to the NPFL last season after finishing 19th on the 20-team table.

Amuneke has reportedly begun recruiting players for the upcoming season, leveraging his extensive coaching experience in domestic and international football.

His return to coaching is highly anticipated, and his appointment could be a significant boost for Heartland FC’s bid to return to the elite division.

Amuneke’s appointment is expected to be announced soon, marking a exciting new chapter in his coaching career.
