Igbo Bu Ike International Takes Off, National And State Executives Constituted

Igbo Bu Ike International, a leading socio-political group in the South East, has successfully constituted its national and state executives.

This move is aimed at actualizing the organization’s core aims and objectives, which include fostering unity among Igbos both at home and in the diaspora.

The inauguration ceremony, which took place on Saturday, July 6, 2024, in Owerri, Imo State capital, was attended by well-meaning Igbo sons and daughters across the five Southeast States, including the South East Co-ordinator of the group, Dr.Chika Onu.

The President General of the organization, U.S.-based Saint Paul Anyalebechi, emphasized the group’s commitment to promoting economic development in the Southeast region, making it the economic hub of Nigeria and Africa.

Anyalebechi traced the history of Igbo Bu Ike, which was founded by well-meaning Igbos in Houston, Texas, United States, to encourage Igbos to invest in their homeland.

He highlighted the progress made so far and reiterated the organization’s dedication to addressing the diaspora needs of Igbos.

The President General called on members to cooperate, commit, and dedicate themselves to the ideals of the organization, emphasizing the need for focus and unity in order to realize set goals, targets, and objectives.

He revealed that the organization has grown by leaps and bounds, with Igbo Bu Ike International set to take off in South Africa soon.

The high point of the event was the review and robust debate of the organization’s draft Constitution and the appointment and inauguration of national executive members.

Members of the National Exco who took oaths of office administered by Barr Ama Akalaonu are:  Saint Paul Anyalelechi (President), Chief (Sir) Chukwudi Opara (Vice President), Dr. Opara Micheal (Secretary), Gideon Nnanna (Assistant Secretary), Emmanuel Anokwu (Financial Secretary), Innocent Onyeukwu (PRO), Kennedy Oparaugo (Assistant PRO), Chika Tasie (Welfare), Mrs. Stella Opara (Assistant Financial Secretary).

Dr. Nwabueze Ishmael and Dr.Louis O. Ugwulor were appointed Chairmen of the Abia and Imo State Chapters of the organization.

They were also mandated to constitute the executives of the group in the two states.

The constitution of the National and State Executives marks a significant milestone in the journey of Igbo Bu Ike International. 

With a strong leadership structure in place, the organization is now poised to make a meaningful impact in the Southeast and beyond.
