Nigerians have been urged to share the burden of less Privileged people in captivity especially those on trumped charges for no fault of theirs.
Hon. Godson Dibe, Imo state Special Adviser on Empowerment in the shared Prosperity government of distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma CON while on a visit to mitigate enduring challenges of prison inmates in Owerri disclosed the preparedness of distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma ( Onwa Oyoko ) in governance with active involvement of foremost Philanthropists like the godson Dibe Foundation www.godson dibeempowernt.com etc
Hon Dibe who came in solidarity of well wishers and friends noted that the government alone can not solve most of the societal challenges advocated for active involvement of well meaning Imolites, Nigerians and the globe to ameliorate sufferings of the people especially the down throdden.
He observed the deteriorating environmental challenges and worrisome health needs of inmates at the correctional centre , Owerri as overcrowding, overflowing drainages within the Complex , threats of possible endemic diseases like chicken pox, flue, Malaria due to mosquito attacks ,cockroaches and bed -burgs as well as invasion of rodents .
The six footer Special Adviser on Empowerment told his hosts that change starts from every individual before leaders , adding that no society moves forward in isolation of Symbiotic relationships . Hon Dibe emphasized that correctional centre is not sentence to death always but a place for change . In his words" governance is sharing the pains and joy of the masses.'' Hon Dibe said by forty -Eight hours ,from his visit efforts must be made to start the fumigation of Owerri correctional centre by experts while rehabilitation of dilapidated infrastructures at their Workshops , supply of medicals would be effected to avert more Problems . Our Empowerment is to ensure that inmates on discharge are reintegrated into the society with Skills and trainings that will advance sociopolitical and economic development of the society. Mr Eke C. Eke promised the Empowerment Adviser to IMO government that every provision and assistance would be put to effective use . He thanked Hon Godson Dibe for his promise to assist with provision of drugs and even food and beverages to the inmates.
Correspondents at the event recalls that the special Adviser paid medical bills of some inmates who were treated , discharged but retained at the Federal Medical Clinic Owerri. He pleaded for more support for Welding Machines as well as Baking Oven with which inmates engage in preparation of Confectionaries.
Meanwhile many Imolites have continued to express appreciations to the government for selecting a passionate and God fearing Special Adviser on Empowerment., Hon Godson Dibe.
