NFF Woos Chelsea Defender Adarabioyo To Play For Super Eagles

Tosin Adarabioyo, Chelsea’s 26-year-old center-back, is being courted by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) to switch allegiance to Nigeria.

Adarabioyo, who joined Chelsea as a free agent over the summer, has not played for England since 2016.

Top NFF officials have contacted Adarabioyo in an attempt to persuade him to make the switch.

This is not the first time Adarabioyo has been approached by Nigeria, having declined two previous invitations.

One of those approaches was made by coach Jose Peseiro in 2023 ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria reached the final of the tournament but lost to Cote d’Ivoire.

The NFF hopes to replicate the success of recruiting players like Ademola Lookman, who switched allegiances in 2021.

Adarabioyo’s decision is eagerly awaited, as he could be a valuable addition to the Nigerian team.
