Hon. Wisdom Ekewuba, President General of Owerre Zurumee People’s Assembly, has defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, saying Governor Hope Uzodimma’s magical success recorded in office and Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi’sfair representation at the Senate inspired him to join the APC.
Ekewuba, a strong contender for the Owerri West State Constituency Seat in the 2023 elections, at a press conference in Owerri, cited the internal crisis ravaging the PDP in the state as the reason for his defection.
He praised Governor Hope Uzodimma’s exceptional leadership, progress, peace, and good governance, saying he wants to support him in consolidating his achievements.
Ekewuba also expressed his support for Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, who recently defected to APC from the Labour Party, describing him as a fair and pragmatic politician.
He commended Uzodimma’s infrastructure development, including quality road construction and rehabilitation, which has given Imo State a beautiful look.
Ekewuba appealed to the opposition to withdraw their cases in court against Uzodimma and join hands with him to advance the development, peace, and goodness of the state.
He urged the people of Owerri Zone to solidly support Uzodimma, who he said loves the zone passionately and has shown commitment to its development.
Ekewuba believes deeply in the Charter of Equity regarding Imo State Governorship and described Onyewuchi’s representation of Owerri Senatorial District as adequate and fantastic.
Onyewuchi’s numerous achievements, Ekewuba said, have endeared him to the people, and his defection to APC is a testament to Uzodimma’s inclusive leadership.
