Imo, Igbo Have Lost Two Valuable Assets- OZAC Mourns Iwuanyanwu, Onwenu

A leading socio political group in Owerri zone, Imo State, the Owerri Zone Awareness Coalition, OZAC, says Imo State and Igbo nation have lost two valuable assets “whose dedication and service to the State and the Igbo nation will be greatly missed

In a statement signed by its President, Emmanuel Okwu, the group noted that “their demise have left a gaping hole in the hearts of the people of Imo State and the entire Igbo nation”

The Full Statement reads:

“The Owerri Zone Awareness Coalition (OZAC) is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of an illustrious son and daughter of Imo State and Igboland, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and Onyeka Onwenu.

“Their demise has left a gaping hole in the hearts of the people of Imo State and the entire Igbo nation.

“Chief Iwuanyanwu was a patriot, a true son of Owerri zone, and a leader who fought tirelessly for the progress, development and advancement of Igboland.

“His contributions to the growth and advancement of our people will never be forgotten.

Onyeka Onwenu, an Amazon and elegant stallion, was a renowned journalist, singer, and philanthropist. Her impact on the entertainment industry and her commitment to the welfare of the less privileged will be deeply missed.

“The people of Imo State have lost two valuable assets, whose dedication and service to the state, the Igbo nation and Nigeria at large will be greatly missed. Their passing is a huge loss to our dear State and Nigeria.

“OZAC commiserates with the families of the deceased, the people of Imo State, and the entire Igbo nation on this irreparable loss. May their souls rest in peace.

“We pray that God grants us the fortitude to bear this loss and continue their legacy of service and dedication to our people.

Chief Iwuanyanwu’s leadership and vision will be deeply missed, especially his role as leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide.

“Onyeka Onwenu’s music and philanthropy will continue to inspire generations to come.

“Their passing is a reminder of the transience of life and the need for us to continue their good works.

“OZAC urges the people of Imo State to emulate the lives of these two icons, whose contributions will never be forgotten.

“We will miss their wisdom, guidance, and leadership, but their legacy will live on in our hearts.

“OZAC will continue to work towards the development and progress of Owerri zone, Igboland, inspired by the examples of Chief Iwuanyanwu and Onyeka Onwenu.

“May their souls rest in peace, and may God comfort their families and loved ones
