Orie Didn’t Resign As ISOPADEC MD, Tenure Expired- Imo Govt

The Imo State Government has debunked rumors circulating on social media about the resignation of Charles Orie, Managing Director of the Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ISOPADEC).

In a press release, Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation, and Strategy Declan Emelumba described the purported resignation as “false and misleading”.

Emelumba clarified that Orie’s tenure as chairman of the Commission had expired, and Governor Hope Uzodinma did not renew it.

Therefore, Orie could not have resigned from a non-existent position, Emelumba emphasized.

The Commissioner stated that while the State Government has no issue with Orie, it was necessary to set the records straight to avoid misleading the public.

Emelumba stressed, “The truth of the matter is that Chief Charles Orie’s tenure as Managing Director of ISOPADEC was not renewed. He, therefore, could not have resigned.”
