Igbo Bu Ike International has strongly condemned the recent “Igbo Must Go” campaign perpetuated by non-Igbos, describing it as a hate-filled rhetoric that seeks to demonize and dehumanize Igbo people.

In a statement signed by Saint Paul Anyalebechi and Chief Chukwudi Opara, President General and Vice President of the group, they said it will not sit idly and watch Igbos vilified.

The full statement reads:,

“Igbo Bu Ike International, strongly condemn the recent “Igbo Must Go” campaign perpetuated by non-Igbos. This hate-filled rhetoric is a stark reminder of the dark days of violence and discrimination against the Igbo people.

“This campaign is not only divisive but also incendiary, seeking to whip up sentiments against the Igbo people.

“We reject this attempt to demonize and dehumanize our people. Igbos have made immense contributions to the development of Nigeria, and our entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and innovation have benefited all Nigerians.

“We will not stand idly, while our people are targeted and vilified. We demand an immediate end to this campaign and a public apology from those responsible.

“We call on all Nigerians to reject this divisive rhetoric and stand with us against hate and discrimination.

“The “Igbo Must Go” campaign is a threat to national unity and cohesion. We must work together to build a Nigeria where everyone is valued and respected.

“We urge President Bola Tinubu led Federal Government to take immediate action to stop this campaign and hold those responsible accountable.

“We will continue to promote the values of unity, inclusivity, and respect for all Nigerians.

“The Igbo people will not be intimidated or silenced. We will continue to contribute to Nigeria’s growth and development.

“We demand equal rights and opportunities for all Nigerians, regardless of ethnicity or region. We reject any attempt to marginalize or exclude the Igbo people from the Nigerian project.

“In addition, Igbo Bu Ike International is committed to ensuring that our people bring back their wealth and investments to Igboland, in the spirit of “Aku ru ulo” (wealth goes home).

“We will work tirelessly to create an enabling environment for our people to invest in our homeland and develop our economy.

“Together, we can build a brighter future for all Nigerians. Let us stand united against hate and division.
