The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to announce Janne Andersson as the new head coach of the Super Eagles, according to SCORENigeria.

Andersson, a 61-year-old Swedish national, is expected to be unveiled as the team’s new boss this week, two months after Finidi George’s departure.

This marks Andersson’s first foray into African football, bringing a wealth of experience from his seven-year tenure as Sweden’s national team coach.

During his time with Sweden national team, Andersson achieved remarkable success, qualifying the team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup after a 12-year absence.

He masterminded Sweden’s impressive World Cup campaign, topping Group F ahead of South Korea, Mexico, and reigning champions Germany.

Under Andersson’s guidance, Sweden reached the quarterfinals, where they were eliminated by England.

The seasoned tactician is now set to bring his expertise to the Super Eagles, tasked with navigating the team through the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
