The Spiritual Director of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach (ZPMO), Evangelist Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi, has made a passionate appeal to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), from detention.
According to Evangelist Obi who spoke to a congregation at a three days programme of his ministry held at Ngor Okpala LGA in Imo State, Kanu’s release will bring calmness to the Southeast region and address the rising insecurity plaguing the area.
“His release will go a long way in addressing the security situation in the Southeast region,” he said.
Obi described Kanu as “a son of the soil” and commended the efforts of the Southeast Governors Forum and Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide in appealing for his release.
He urged them to continue pressing for Kanu’s freedom.
The Evangelist expressed optimism that President Tinubu will be compassionate and listen to the cries of Ndigbo, approving Kanu’s release.
Obi also called on wealthy Igbos to invest in Igbo land, creating job opportunities for unemployed youths and reducing restiveness, truancy, insecurity, and social vices.
“I appeal to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to approve the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu… I am very optimistic that the President will listen to our cries.”
He also thanked the Imo state government for providing a secure environment for a successful three-day crusade, which saw millions of attendees from across the globe.
