Hon. Ebere Chukwuemeka, popularly known as ABJ, has declared his intention to contest for the Owerri Municipal Chairmanship position.
ABJ, a seasoned politician, has previously contested for the Owerri Assembly seat in the Imo House of Assembly.
He was appointed Chairman, Owerri Municipal Council by former Governor Emeka Ihedioha.
“I have the capacity to perform in office if elected because I have the experience to lead the municipal,” ABJ said while addressing party supporters.
He recalled his impressive seven-month tenure as council chairman, during which he delivered numerous dividends of democracy to his people.
“During my seven months stay as council chairman, we built 12 toilets in the council, re-roofed the council, built a healthcare centre…”
ABJ also mentioned sponsoring three women for pilgrimage to Israel and installing transformers in five locations in Owerri Municipal
“I constituted Owerri Municipal guard to ensure security in the council, we completed the building of a shopping plaza at Tetlow road…”he said.
With his track record, ABJ said he is confident he will perform beyond expectation if elected as Council Chairman.
“Having achieved this feat in seven months, I will certainly perform beyond expectation if elected as Council Chairman in the forthcoming September 21, 2024 Imo local government election.”he concluded.
