ISIEC: We Are Yet To Release List Of Candidates For Imo LG Election

The Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) has denied releasing the names of candidates for the upcoming local government council elections in the State.

In a statement signed by Chairman of the Commission, Chief Charles Ejiogu, ISIEC described the reports as “misleading and mischievous”.

The Commission clarified that it will only release the list of candidates after validating their personal details as required by law.

ISIEC warned political parties, candidates, and the public to disregard the false information.

“We urge everyone to ignore this blatant falsehood with outright ignominy,” the statement read.

The Commission also emphasized its commitment to following guidelines and extant rules and regulations.

The Commission Chairman assured the public of a transparent and fair process.

“We will ensure that the electoral process is credible and reflects the will of the people,” he said.

ISIEC reiterated its dedication to conducting free and fair local government elections in Imo State.
