Rivers: Fubara To Swear In Newly Elected LG Chairmen Today

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State will today (Sunday) swear in the newly elected local government chairmen.

The ceremony is set to take place at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt at 4:00 PM.

This announcement was made in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo.

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) recently declared the winners of the local government elections, with the Action Peoples Party (APP) securing 22 out of 23 local government areas.

The statement reads: “His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Governor of Rivers State, will today, Sunday, October 6, 2024, swear in the newly elected Council Chairmen at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, by 4:00 PM.

“The newly elected Chairmen, along with one (1) guest each, are expected to be seated by 3:30 PM.”
