Panic In Imo, Soldiers Clash With Gunmen

A violent confrontation between soldiers and gunmen in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State has left numerous casualties, with several feared dead and others injured.

The attack unfolded late last night in the Aba branch area of Ehime Mbano, according to local sources.

Eyewitnesses claim that non-state actors ambushed and killed some soldiers during the altercation, according to The Nation.

In response, troops have reportedly taken control of surrounding communities.

Residents described the situation as chaotic, fleeing their homes in terror as gunfire rang out across the area.

“We are terrified,” one resident spoke on condition of anonymity.

“The gunshots are still echoing. We have no idea what’s happening, and we fear for what comes next. Ehime used to be peaceful, but now everything feels uncertain.”

As of now, there has been no official statement from police or military authorities concerning the deadly clash.
