Soludo Told To Declare No Victor, No Vanquished’ In APGA Leadership Dispute

Chukwuma Soludo, Governor, Anambra State

The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), a leading body representing Igbo youth worldwide, has called on Governor Charles Soludo to adopt a “No Victor, No Vanquish” stance in resolving the ongoing leadership dispute within the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

The OYC emphasized that reconciliation with Chief Edozie Njoku, recognized by a recent Supreme Court ruling as APGA’s legitimate chairman, would prevent further division and political setbacks for the Igbo people.

During a press briefing in Abuja, OYC National President Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka urged Governor Soludo to uphold the Igbo value of “Onye Aghala Nwanne Ya”—or “do not abandon your brother”—and unify APGA’s leadership.

He warned that a fractured APGA, which has been plagued by internal conflicts since 2019, is hindering the party’s effectiveness in representing Igbo interests nationally.

“The continuous leadership crisis in APGA is detrimental not only to the party but also to the political aspirations of the Igbo people across Nigeria,”

“Governor Soludo has a unique opportunity to restore unity by aligning with the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of Chief Njoku’s leadership, which was further affirmed by INEC.” he stated

Igboayaka expressed disappointment over APGA’s stalled progress, contrasting its struggles with the transformation of Bola Tinubu’s Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) into the influential All Progressives Congress (APC).

He noted that APGA, founded on Igbo principles to advance regional interests, has failed to reach similar heights due to persistent internal divisions, which he attributes to political infighting within Anambra State.

He also suggested that former governors Peter Obi, Willie Obiano, and now Governor Soludo have contributed to APGA’s decline, confining its influence largely to Anambra.

Igboayaka however stated that Soludo has an opportunity to change this legacy by supporting Njoku’s leadership, thereby restoring APGA as a political powerhouse capable of delivering electoral victories for the Southeast in 2027.

The OYC president called on Soludo to initiate an emergency reconciliation meeting within APGA to solidify the party’s future.

Igboayaka said Soludo can reinforce the court’s decision and establish a precedent of unity within APGA.

He suggested that the “No Victor, No Vanquish” approach would allow Soludo to focus on his re-election campaign while strengthening APGA’s regional and national standing.

“A unified APGA under Chief Njoku’s leadership would renew hope for the Igbo people and strengthen our influence in Nigerian politics,” Igboayaka concluded.
