Some Communities in lkeduru local Government Area, lmo State, would now begin to enjoy solar Street lights, courtesy of an illustrious son of the area and a prominent indigene of the State, Dr . Uzoma Obiyo, who attracted the project from the federal Government.
Dr. Obiyo, an entrepreneur and CEO/Group Managing Director of Multinet Group Limited, had facilitated the solar Street lights project under the federal Government Rural Electricity Agency Project.
The project covers both the supply and installation of Mini-grid Solar power and solar Street lights at Nneise Ugiri-lke Community, Okwu Community and Atta Girls Secondary Schools, lkeduru, Local Government.
The solar Street lights project, when completed, no doubt, will give the benefiting Communities new faces and equally promote socio- economic activities in the Communities involved.
Already, the residents of the Communities that benefited from the project have continued to express their joy and excitement, stating that, the solar Street lights are signs of development and would go a long way to assist the people of the various Communities in carrying out their legitimate activities especially at nights.
Some of the residents also explained that the solar Street lights would, to a very large extent, promote night-life generally in the benefiting Communities, which would include economic activities.
In a chat, Dr. Obiyo said, he would continue to bring home, any good thing that would add value to his lkeduru people in particular and lmo people in general, assuring that, he won’t leave any stone unturned in contributing to the progress and prosperity of where he comes from, assuring to work towards extending the gesture to more Communities.
