Ohaneze To Tinubu: Release Nnamdi Kanu, Write Your Name In Gold

The President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Nze Ozichukwu Fidelis Chukwu, on Friday praised President Bola Tinubu for his growing positive stance towards the Igbo nation, urging him to solidify his legacy by ordering the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Chukwu made the statement while welcoming the President ahead of his official visit to Enugu State on Saturday.

In a statement issued by Ohanaeze spokesman, Alex Ogbonnia, Chukwu expressed optimism that such a move would endear Tinubu to the hearts of Ndigbo and Nigerians at large, positioning him as a champion of national unity and justice.

“If President Tinubu orders the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, he will write his name in gold in the hearts of Ndigbo and all well-meaning Nigerians,” Chukwu remarked.

The Ohanaeze President-General emphasized that true peace and economic progress in Nigeria depend on fairness, equity, and social justice for all groups. He stressed that no society can thrive under conditions of marginalization and deprivation, warning against the dangers of unresolved political tensions.

Chukwu also praised Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State for his impressive infrastructure developments, including the Enugu International Conference Centre, Enugu Smart Schools, and numerous road rehabilitations.

He also acknowledged the contributions of Senator Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State, for improving air transport infrastructure in the South-East region with the installation of Night Landing Equipment at Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport.
