Onyeneke Vows To Prioritize Grassroots Development As SECLOG For Owerri West LGA

Chief Dr. Fidel Onyeneke, newly appointed Secretary to the Local Government (SECLOG) for Owerri West LGA in Imo State, has pledged to leverage his position to uplift the living standards of rural dwellers.

Speaking after his swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday at Umuguma, conducted by the Local Government Chairman, Chief Victor Osigwe, Onyeneke emphasized the need for grassroots socio-economic development.

The former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Imo State expressed gratitude to Governor Hope Uzodinma and Chief Osigwe for entrusting him with the role.

He vowed to apply the state government’s 3R mantra of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Recovery to improve governance in the local government.

Onyeneke assured that he would prioritize effective service delivery to enhance the well-being of Owerri West residents.

Chief Onyeneke also highlighted the importance of addressing Nigeria’s social and moral challenges, stating that empowering local government systems to fulfill their constitutional roles could resolve many of these issues.

He reiterated that his leadership would focus on creating lasting legacies that foster sustainable development for the people of Owerri West.

Calling for the cooperation of staff and residents, Onyeneke assured his commitment to transparency, honesty, and dedication.

He pledged to serve with integrity, ensuring that all efforts are geared toward satisfying the needs of the local population and accelerating the area’s progress.
