After careful analysis of their recent political moves, their strategies and maneuvers indicate a keen interest in taking a shot at the governorship of the state.
The first politician, a former governor who was removed from office, is said to be making a serious and determined comeback. He has reportedly embarked on widespread consultations across various political and social groups, even beyond the state, gauging support for his return to the governorship race.
Sources close to him reveal that while he has considered joining the Labour Party, he has temporarily shelved the idea, opting instead to observe the resolution of the leadership crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), of which he was a founding member. His focus on building alliances across party lines underscores his determination to regain political relevance in the state.
The second figure, a former minister known for his quiet posture, has largely maintained a low profile since leaving office. Despite his low-key approach, he is reportedly among the aggrieved members of the APC who are dissatisfied with the party’s internal dynamics and President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style.
This former minister is said to be aligned with a faction of disenchanted APC politicians, such as former governors, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State. These political heavyweights are believed to be working towards forming a united opposition to challenge Tinubu’s administration in the 2027 presidential election.
El-Rufai and Amaechi have consistently and publicly opposed the President and the APC.

The third contender, a tech entrepreneur with significant clout and a solid financial base, is quietly laying the groundwork for a gubernatorial bid. Although he is currently consulting APC leaders at both state and national levels, sources close to him revealed that he may consider defecting to another party if he does not secure a clear pathway to clinching the party’s governorship ticket.
