Imo APC Chairman Blows Hot,Vows To

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, Hon. MacDonald Ebere, PhD, has issued a decisive directive to party members, cautioning against premature political maneuvers ahead of the 2027 elections.

He stressed the need for focus and discipline to ensure Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration remains undistracted in its developmental strides.

During a stakeholders’ meeting at the APC State Secretariat,Ebere expressed concern over reports of unauthorized political activities by some party members.

While he acknowledged that political interests for the future are natural, he described premature moves as harmful distractions that undermine Governor Uzodimma’s efforts, especially as he is just one year into his second term.

“These actions are typical of opposition parties and should never occur in a disciplined ruling party like the APC,” Ebere stated.

He emphasized that the APC has successfully neutralized opposition in the state and must not allow internal distractions to jeopardize its unity and progress.

To address the issue, the chairman outlined a series of rules aimed at restoring order.

He warned that no unauthorized meetings should be held in any local government area, and any party executive found participating in such activities would face the State Disciplinary Committee.

Ebere also condemned unauthorized congress list-writing, warning that anyone caught compiling or circulating such lists would face severe disciplinary action.

He clarified that all actions must align with party rules and be approved by the appropriate authorities.

The chairman reminded stakeholders of directives from the APC National Working Committee, which stipulate that no new member registrations should occur until the revalidation of existing members is complete.

He assured members that the party would announce a timeline for new registrations after the revalidation process.

“These directives are non-negotiable. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.” Ebere warned.

He urged party members to remain loyal, disciplined, and focused on supporting Governor Uzodimma’s administration in delivering development to the people of Imo State.
