Daddy Hezekiah University, Umudi, Imo State, is set to hold its maiden convocation ceremony on March 8, 2025.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nnamdi Okere, alongside key members of the management team, including Dr. Chika Ogbufo, Admissions Officer, and Dr. Alex Madu, Head, Dean, and others expressed their joy at the forthcoming event at a news conference with newsmen at the university.
Speaking ahead of the convocation, Prof. Okere emphasized the university’s commitment to producing graduates of academic excellence and good morals.
“Our students are trained to embody the motto of the university—academic excellence of good morals. They are an injection of good seeds into society,” he said.
He also stated that the ceremony will feature the conferment of honors.
Prof. Okere expressed gratitude for the university’s achievements, saying”I am lucky to witness this Convocation as we celebrate our graduates and their remarkable journey.”
According to him, the university has maintained a 100% accreditation status for its programmes.
Dr Chika Ogbufo, Admissions Officer explained that all students of the university benefit from a scholarship of N100,000, stressing that this underscores the institution’s dedication to affordability and accessibility to higher education.
She said staff also enjoy unique incentives at the university, including gifts of clothing, money, and other items as part of the institution’s welfare initiatives.
Dr. Ogbufo noted that this support extends to fostering a strong understanding within the university.
“Beyond academics Hezekiah University has made a significant impact on its surrounding community. Local villagers frequently benefit from the university’s resources, such as access to clean water. We are also strategic partners to the community” She said.
She further explained that Admissions into the university are conducted through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), ensuring transparency and merit-based admission.
She noted the university’s determination to uphold high standards while extending opportunities to deserving students.
Dr. Alex Madu, Head, Deans, reflected on the institution’s achievements, describing the graduates as “prepared to make a meaningful impact in their respective fields and society at large.”
According to him, the maiden convocation of Hezekiah University sets a standard for academic excellence, moral integrity, and community engagement, which reinforces its place as a beacon of hope and progress.
