2027: We Have Our Eyes On 5 Owerri Zone Sons To Succeed Uzodimma- OZAC

The Owerri Zone Awareness Coalition (OZAC) , a leading socio political group leading the vanguard for an Imo governor of Owerri zone extraction in 2027, has revealed its focus on five prominent individuals from Owerri Zone as potential successors to Governor Hope Uzodimma in 2027.

According to the group, these individuals possess the qualities and vision required to lead Imo State into a new era of progress and development.

Speaking to INNONEWS from his London base, Emmanuel Okwu, President of OZAC, disclosed that after extensive deliberations and consultations, the group has narrowed its search to five distinguished personalities from the zone, which would be pruned down to two next year.

The aim of their focus, he noted, is to ensure that the next governor of Imo State is someone capable of sustaining and building on the achievements of the Uzodimma administration.

Okwu emphasized that while the governor retains the right to choose his successor from within the All Progressives Congress (APC), OZAC is committed to assisting in this crucial decision.

The group says it plans to present its findings and recommendations to Governor Uzodimma at the appropriate time.

“We believe that our research and consultations will provide valuable insights to the governor and the people of Imo State,” Okwu stated.

The selection process, according to Okwu, involved the establishment of a think tank composed of OZAC members and consultations with some stakeholders across Imo State.

“After a rigorous assessment, the think tank identified five individuals deemed capable of leading the state forward. The list comprises two seasoned politicians, one accomplished technocrat, and two business tycoons, all of whom are united by their demonstrated capacity, vision, and potential to transform Imo State” he said.

Okwu explained that the group based its selection on several criteria, including exposure, leadership skills, and a track record of success in their respective fields.

“We are not just looking for a governor; we are looking for a visionary leader who can inspire confidence, drive development, and unite the people of Imo State,” he explained.

The President of OZAC stressed that the think tank’s work is guided by the belief that Owerri Zone, which has not produced a governor in recent years, deserves an opportunity to occupy the position in 2027 in line with the Imo Charter Of Equity

“This is not about politics alone; it is about fairness and the imperative to strengthen democracy in Imo State,” Okwu asserted.

” The group’s selection reflects the diverse potential within Owerri Zone.

“The two politicians have decades of experience in governance and public service, while the technocrat boasts a sterling record in economic and administrative reforms. The business moguls, on the other hand, are known for their innovative approaches and success in creating employment opportunities across the state and beyond” he declared.

Okwu noted that the five individuals represent a cross-section of expertise and values needed to lead Imo State into a new chapter of economic growth, social cohesion, and infrastructural development.

He added that OZAC remains open to further input from stakeholders as it prepares to unveil its recommendations.

“Imo State deserves a leader with a proven track record of service, innovation, and a commitment to the people. We are confident that any of these five individuals will deliver a better future for all Imo citizens.” he concluded.
