The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has been dealt a significant blow as Ebere Chukwuemeka, former Chairman of Owerri Municipal Council, announced his resignation from the party.
In a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ikenegbu Ward, Chukwuemeka cited unresolved crises and leadership problems as reasons for his decision.
“This decision was not taken lightly but became inevitable due to the manner in which some leaders have consistently caused problems and crises in the party,”
“These actions have not only destabilized the party but have also alienated many dedicated members like myself.”he stated in his letter.
Chukwuemeka expressed disappointment in the party’s inability to maintain unity and fulfill its promise of being a progressive and people-oriented platform.
“I joined the PDP with the hope of contributing to a united, progressive, and people-oriented platform. However, the prevailing circumstances have made it impossible to continue associating with the party,” he lamented.
