Galatasaray has reportedly shifted its focus to Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku, acknowledging that a permanent return for Victor Osimhen is improbable.
The 26-year-old striker enjoyed a phenomenal nine months in Turkey, netting 37 goals across all competitions and claiming two trophies with the club.
Osimhen concluded his stellar run by scoring in a decisive 3-0 Turkish Cup final victory. Days later, he delivered another memorable performance in Galatasaray’s 2-0 triumph over Istanbul Basaksehir, reinforcing his influence on the team.
Despite these accomplishments, the star forward’s future appears to lie elsewhere, as he continues to attract attention from top European clubs.
Reflecting on his time with the Turkish champions, Osimhen expressed deep admiration for the club and its fans.
Speaking in February, he admitted uncertainty about his future, stating, “I don’t know [about the future], to be honest. A few months ago, nobody thought I’d come to Galatasaray…but I really love this club.”
The Nigerian international’s Instagram story featuring his two trophies underscored his affection for Galatasaray, sparking speculation among fans.
