Napoli are preparing to launch a move for Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez once Victor Osimhen’s transfer away from the club is finalized.
The Serie A champions are expecting a huge windfall from Osimhen’s imminent sale and have already identified Núñez as their prime target to replace the Nigerian forward.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on X, saying: “Napoli plan to advance for Darwin Núñez deal as soon as they formally sell Victor Osimhen.”
With Osimhen linked to clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia, Napoli are wasting no time in planning for life after their star striker. Núñez, who joined Liverpool in 2022, has been on their radar for months and is viewed as a perfect fit for Antonio Conte’s attacking system.
The Italian giants are expected to step up talks with Liverpool in the coming weeks once Osimhen’s record-breaking move is sealed.
