The ADC Coalition against the ruling All Progressives Congress,APC, “will not fly in Imo and is dead on arrival,” the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Political Matters and Head, Political Bureau, Chief Perry Opara, has declared.

To help APC remain in power in Imo State, Opara advised APC Councillorship Aspirants, 2024 Clusters, to remain active in the party.

He gave the advice when he received in audience the group who paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Government House Owerri on Friday.

Opara, who welcomed the aspirants stated that the party in Imo is not jittery over the coalition ahead of 2027 because they are not strong in the state.

He said the APC in Imo will produce a credible person that will fly its gubernatorial ticket to enable the party win the poll, hinting that the quality performance of the 3R administration steered by Governor Hope Uzodimma—especially on road projects and human capital development—would add impetus to the victory of APC.

While assuring the group that the Governor is going to heed their demands on inclusion into the administration, Opara noted that Uzodimma had already refunded them the sum of one million naira for the purchase of forms during the LG poll as promised.

He said the office of the Political Bureau would partner with them even more cordially to strengthen the structures of APC at the grassroots.

Opara, who was recently elected National Chairman National Forum For Political Advisers in Nigeria, NAFOPA, reiterated that the Governor, being a pure democrat, is indeed committed to improving good governance in the state to obliterate hunger, poverty, and insecurity.

Earlier, the Clusters, through its State Coordinator, Christian Chijioke Dike, said the essence of the visit was to thank Governor Hope Uzodimma for refunding them one million naira for the purchase of the APC nomination and expression of interest forms during the 2024 LG election.

They also appealed to the Governor to avail them the opportunity for appointments in the Shared Prosperity government to enable them maintain their various structures for the success of the party at the wards across the 27 LGAs of the state.

“We are chief mobilizers of every ward for APC. We have rich followers. So, our followers are expecting us to be included in the government of the day to enable us function fruitfully,” Dike added.

They pledged loyalty to the Governor and the SA and vowed to remain strong in APC to enable the party achieve more electoral victories.
