The news of a retired Police Officer rejecting the paltry N2.8million paid him after wasting his 35 years Youthful age is highly pathetic. I am not writing for the officer alone on this; but his rejecting the money shows how the country called Nigeria treats her citizens who served her.That issue is exactly what I say everytime because the mess cuts across every sector of the Workers ugly experience.Somebody spent 35 years of his Youthful age serving a godam country, he is asked to go and DIE with N2.8million and in some cases, people are till date paid less than N2000 as Pension for the rest of his life. The same thing applies to other Civil and Public Servants whereas those who stole the country DRY for only FOUR [4] years or EIGHT [8] years and still STEALS are paid Millions monthly even after death. What a USELESS GOD FORSAKEN COUNTRY with HEARTLESS AND WICKED DEMONIC LEADERS EVERYWHERE?.
It’s unbelievable but a Truism that some Retired Civil and Public Servants including those in the Armed Forces still receive N2000-N10000 [Two Thousand to Ten Thousand Naira monthly as Pension. Some who are lucky receive between N15,000 -N90,000 as monthly Pension while those who found themselves in the Seat of Power collect Millions monthly for their security dogs while they themselves relax monthly with uncountable Millions weekly and monthly for their families-A country with hardened steel wicked leaders. In developed Climes, Pension and Gratuities of Retired Workers are REVIEWED alongside with Serving Workers; but in Nigeria, they are left to rot away and die. It’s this HEARTLESS WICKEDNESS on the part of the Demonic leaders that has led to people stealing while in office to make ends meet on retirement. We need SANE LEADERS that will remember those who served the country after retirement.
A gruesome experience abound in some States especially in the States where the Governors are owing Retired Workers Pension Arrears running into SEVERAL YEARS yet they turned blind and black EYES to the PAINS of these suffering Retirees. In some States, they end up conducting useless verification exercises to heighten the hopes of the Retirees, at the end nothing happens. I know that even in Imo State, one of the previous Governors mesmerised Workers for EIGHT SOLID YEARS without paying either Pension or Gratuity. What he paid to some people was quashed by the JUDICIARY which described the payment as ordinary POCKET MONEY. A situation where one is to be paid Twenty Thousand Naira, he is Paid N9000 and made to sign that he has been paid. That’s the type of Leaders we have. I totally SUPPORT THE POLICE OFFICER who rejected the nonsensical peanut as gratuity. Government both at Federal and State levels should sit down and review the death
sentence they pass on RETIRED WORKERS INCLUDING THOSE IN THE ARMED FORCES ETC.
