Nigeria international, Wilfred Ndidi is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Turkish Super Lig heavyweights, Besiktas, in a deal expected to be finalised this week.

Reports indicate that Besiktas have reached an agreement with Leicester City to trigger the £9 million release clause in the midfielder’s contract, clearing the path for the transfer.

The Turkish giants, now managed by former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, identified Ndidi as a top priority in their summer rebuild and moved swiftly to secure his services.

The 29-year-old is scheduled to travel to Istanbul in the coming days for his medical examinations ahead of the official unveiling.

Ndidi is expected to sign a three-year contract with Besiktas, with an option for a one-year extension, as he begins a new chapter in his career away from English football.

The tough-tackling midfielder joined Leicester City in 2017 and was instrumental during their Premier League campaigns, including their FA Cup triumph in 2021.
