As momentum gathers ahead of the next election cycle, especially the 2027 Imo governorship race, Owerri Zone is making a bold and decisive move, rallying its people around the call for equity, justice, and good governance.
In a joint statement made available to INNONEWS, Olu Owerri, in collaboration with the Owerri Zone Indigenous Town Union, Ogbako Ndi Nze Owerri Zone, and the Owerri Zone Youth Forum, announced a historic Town Hall meeting scheduled to take place in Owerri.
The statement/invitation was endorsed by Chief (Barr.) Martin Opara, President General, Olu Owerri; Prof. Anthony Nkwocha, Chairman, Central Planning Committee; and Comrade Nnaji Julius K., Secretary, Central Planning Committee.
The Town Hall Meeting , this newspaper learnt, is aimed at solidifying the zone’s position in the struggle for political justice in Imo State.
It is expected to attract major and key stakeholders across the zone to brainstorm on the political advancement of the zone.
The Town Hall meeting, with the theme “Equity and Justice, Panacea for Peace, and Good Governance,”* will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the Sam Mbakwe Hall, Rockview Hotels, Owerri, beginning at 11 a.m.
Former Imo State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Chief Soronnadi Njoku (SAN), will deliver the keynote address at the gathering.
