The Imo Young Patriots For Mazi have endorsed the governorship ambition of Dr. Matthew Chima Amadi, known across the state as Mazi Gburugburu, vowing to deliver 135,000 votes from its fold to secure his victory in the November 2027 Imo governorship election.
In a statement in Owerri signed by its convener and Director of Strategy and Implementation, Chukwuemeka Isdore and Ugory Kelvin Chibuikem respectively, the group condemned what they described as years of corruption, incompetence, and bad governance in Imo State.
They insisted that the state has been turned into a theatre of fraud, where public resources are squandered while citizens suffer untold hardship.
They declared that their decision to back Mazi Chima Amadi was both strategic and moral.
“We have perfected strategies to mobilize 135,000 votes from our members across the state to guarantee your emergence as the next governor of Imo State,” they said.
The group did not mince words about the rot in the system.
“This state has been trapped in the grip of kleptocrats who thrive on deceit and propaganda. The youths have been reduced to tools for political violence, while workers and pensioners groan in neglect. Imo deserves better,” part of the statement read.
The Patriots also unveiled their programmes which include, “760 Days March to Douglas House,” which outlines voter registration drives, sensitization campaigns, and grassroots mobilization.
According to them, the journey begins August 22 with a massive statewide sensitization, followed by an LGA tour between October 28 and December 4, and culminating in a grand seminar on December 6 where Mazi Chima Amadi is expected to sign a binding social contract with over 10,000 youths.
“This is not mere rhetoric. We are building structures in every ward, engaging community leaders, and creating alliances with professionals and influencers. For us, politics is no longer about stomach infrastructure but about a generational rescue mission,” they emphasized.
The Patriots argued that Amadi represents the antithesis of the current order: competence, integrity, and vision.
“He feels the pain of the people. He is cerebral, compassionate, and prepared to rebuild a broken state. His emergence will be the end of the culture of deceit,” they declared.
They lambasted the present political leadership for chasing clout while ignoring governance.
“We have leaders who throw money on the streets for optics, while our hospitals rot and our roads collapse. We have leaders who prefer propaganda over performance. This insult on Imolites must stop,” they fired.
According to the group, Amadi’s interventions in education, healthcare, and youth empowerment already stand him out.
They argued that his message has ignited fresh hope and rekindled confidence that the Imo political order can be redefined.
“Your lecture at Assumpta Cathedral remains historic. You spoke truth to power and gave youths and entrepreneurs a new belief that their voices matter and that real change is within reach.”they explained.
The Patriots promised to take Mazi’s message to every home, market, and community in the state.
“There is no neutrality in politics. We must rise, mobilize, and ensure victory for Mazi in 2027. Anything less is betrayal to our generation.”they warned.
“Our future is bright with Mazi, our hope is alive with Mazi, and our victory is certain with Mazi. Together, we will bury the politics of deceit and enthrone competence in Douglas House.” they concluded.
