Remnants Of Orluzurumee Faction Collapses As Chief Reuben Okoro, Loyalists Bow To Nzekwe’s Leadership

PRESS RELEASE

Chief (Barrister) Reuben Okoro, a founding father of the Orluzurumee socio-political movement, has finally led the remnants of his faction to pledge total allegiance to the leadership of Hon. Prince Ugochukwu Nzekwe, the current President General of the apex Orlu organization.

Okoro, who had been overseas during the earlier reconciliation and unification drive, returned to Nigeria and physically validated the commitment he had given from the United States, thereby sealing what many observers now describe as the “final burial” of factionalism within Orluzurumee.

At a solemn meeting he personally convened, Chief Okoro openly declared his acceptance of Nzekwe’s leadership, putting to rest years of division that had threatened to derail the group’s vision.

He urged members of his loyal faction to embrace the new order, rally behind Hon. Nzekwe, and resist any attempt by splinter groups to parade themselves under the revered Orluzurumee banner.

According to him, the time had come for unity, peace, and collective progress.

“At this stage of my life, my interest is to pave the way for the younger generation to take Orluzurumee to greater heights while preserving the legacies we have built,” he stated.

Analysts say that the unification is another feather in the cap of Hon. Ugochukwu Nzekwe, whose growing reputation as a bridge-builder and consummate unifier has been widely celebrated.

They contend that with this reconciliation, Nzekwe has effectively brought back into the fold all remnants of the Okoro faction, cementing his place as the undisputed leader of the socio-political powerhouse.

Some of his supporters describe him as “a fantastic leader, a national and international figure, and a man of vast exposure, experience, and sagacity,” well-positioned to steer Orluzurumee into a new era of relevance and influence.

They note that this development marks the beginning of a rebirth for Orluzurumee, stating that under Nzekwe’s watch, the group is now revitalized and set to launch a socio-cultural and economic renaissance for Orlu Zone.

“This is more than just reconciliation. It is a new dawn for Orluzurumee”one elder at the meeting told reporters.

The movement is stronger, better, and more united than ever before.” one of Nzekwe supporters who spoke under the condition of anonymity said.

The reinvigorated Orluzurumee is already signaling readiness to work with government, stakeholders, and the wider society to advance the unity, peace, and development of Orlu Zone.

For many, the collapse of the last vestiges of factionalism is not just a personal triumph for Nzekwe, but also a powerful message that Orlu’s apex socio-cultural group is finally back on track, focused, and ready to reclaim its pride of place.

With unity restored, Hon. Ugochukwu Nzekwe now has the mandate and the moral authority to reposition Orluzurumee as a rallying point for Ndi Orlu and a key player in the wider socio-political development of Imo State.

As one of the elders concluded at the event: “Orluzurumee is good to go — stronger, better, and united under the visionary leadership of Hon. Ugochukwu Nzekwe.”
