Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has agreed to return to Manchester United as interim head coach, with an agreement reached between both parties.
The club is expected to complete the formalities on Friday, when Solskjaer will sign his contract and officially take charge of the team.
United said the Norwegian will resume duties immediately, with preparations beginning ahead of the Premier League clash against Manchester City scheduled for January 17.
Solskjaer previously managed the club between 2018 and 2021, overseeing a period that included a second-place league finish and multiple deep cup runs.
His appointment comes after Manchester United sacked Ruben Amorim earlier this week following a run of disappointing results.
