After hurling in two prestigious awards within this month alone, Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, is set for another media honour as Silverbird Television has voted him Governor of the Year 2025.
The Leadership Newspapers and the New Telegraph Newspapers had, two weeks ago, awarded Uzodimma the Governor of the Year and the GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR ON DIGITAL ECONOMY AND SKILLS ACQUISITION, respectively.
Just as he was savouring those awards, Uzodimma was nominated by Silverbird TV as Governor of the Year 2025, ahead of the ceremony coming up on March 01, 2026, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
In a letter to the governor personally signed by the founder of Silverbird Group, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, Uzodimma was extolled for his transformative leadership in Imo State.
“This recognition reflects your administration’s focused investments in critical infrastructure, power supply, innovation-driven institutions, and improved security architecture. These initiatives represent a deliberate effort to modernize Imo State, stimulate economic activity, and restore public confidence in governance,” the letter read.
It also noted that Uzodimma’s “leadership has emphasized stability, development, and long-term planning — laying foundations that will serve the state well beyond the present moment.”
Reacting to the latest award, the Imo State Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, said it was noteworthy that reputable media organisations in and outside the country have unanimously acknowledged that Uzodimma is a performing governor.
According to him, no fewer than 10 media organisations have, since 2022, honoured Uzodimma with various awards for his commitment to the overall development of the state.
He said the people of Imo State are appreciative of their governor’s infrastructural revolution and human capital development, which are now attracting awards globally.
